Mental health issues
By keeping track of your emotions and keeping your mood in check, you are consciously making an effort to help your mental health. We want to show, through colour and heartfelt prompts, that despite bad days, good will always have its way of shining through. Many people our age struggle with mental health issues and we feel that by providing them with a platform to express their real feelings to themselves, we are opening a safe space for everyone to show their true colours, and make a nice mixture of colours by the end of the week, the month, or the year. Showing that regardless, life is colorful.

The story
The idea originated from a first-hand experience we had. One of the member's friends was having a hard time during quarantine. She started keeping a notebook with a similar idea. She kept mentioning that it's not as accessible to her all the time so she can't realistically record her feelings when she wants to. Technology is always near us. We decided to make an online version for her. It has really improved her emotional state and she has recommended using this tool to a lot of her friends. She appreciated our efforts and said that it was a better alternative to what she used to have.

Research
If the user is more aware of their mood, they will be able to better manage their lifestyle choices, make informed health decisions, prevent or avoid triggers of negative moods, and work towards a better quality of life.
When the user recognizes how they are feeling, they are then able to better understand what’s needed to take care of themselves at that point in time. This allows them to take control of their emotions instead of spiraling.
Being attuned to their feelings can help them recognize how other people and their surroundings are impacting their thought process and their day to day life.
Quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic had severe repercussions on people's mental health. The effects of stressors such as a long quarantine duration, infection fears, frustration, boredom, inadequate supplies, inadequate information, financial loss, and stigma can be seen in every household. Most reviewed studies reported negative psychological effects including post-traumatic stress symptoms, confusion, and anger.
